The EE website does indeed have an option for selecting phone type before predicting your coverage. As best I'm aware, it's main use is whether to include 4G800 in its predictions - I believe that the 1800, 2100 & 2600 bands are all taken as read.The coverage map is only a guide, and not a guarantee - but equally I'd be surprised if it's grossly inaccurate outdoors.0

Whilst its a tiny nuisance, the solution is as already suggested several times, to turn on WiFi Calling, and additionally enabling RCS in their messaging app1
