Has anyone else on Virgin Mobile has this problem (everything on sim is deleted!)?

I've just checked my phone and it seems that my sim card has been completely reset -- all my phone numbers, saved text messages, etc have been deleted. Noone could possibly have done this, so what on earth has gone wrong?! I've had this number for nearly four years and never had a problem until today. It's definitely not a problem with my phone as I tried the sim in another phone too.
Also is it possible to have my number transported to another network? I'm really annoyed that this has happened, think I might take my custom elsewhere.

The only possibility I can think of is that it was a freak accident and either the buttons got pressed accidentally while the phone was in your pocket/bag or you accidentally deleted all data without knowing what you are doing.
About transporting (Porting) your number to another network, that is easy. You have to call up Virgin on 789 and request the PAC. Then when you get the PAC, you have to provide this code to your new network which you would have gone with and the number transfer takes 5 working days.

It could be a problem with your phone. Most modern phones store text messages on the phone itself rather than the SIM card and the phone might be set up to save numbers to the phone rather than the SIM. So therefore if you tried the SIM in another phone it still wouldn't work because the information was stored on the other phone and not the SIM card itself.0 -
