Morning all. Hope you get all the house paperwork sorted today Kaz, and hugs for Dancemum and anyone else who needs them.
Had a lovely get together in the garden with family yesterday but pleased we cleared everything up last night. Nice to come down to tidy house and garden
My plan for today
workout
breakfast
wash up
dust dusty bits in living room
shower and get dressed
change bedding and dust flat surfaces in bedroom
hoover through
short walk with dogs as it's a hot one today
alternate jobs from list with weeding in the garden
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.11 -
Morning all. I have just surfaced for the second time - the first was at 30.50, so I watched a beautiful sunrise, but then, having made and drunk a cuppa and learnt a bit more about the Windrush injustices, I finally got comfortable on 4 pillows and went back to sleep until 7.30.
Dizzy, I googled for the rooster too, and was most amused by the description on the happy chicken website which came out top on my list - at first glance I thought it was describing the owner!!! You are well matched<3 Let me know when your business is up and running and I may come for gifts for DGD1+2, if they haven't already replaced dear old Marigold and her long-departed sisters.
Skinty, you deserve a medal for all you've achieved - your house must be shining
Glad to hear you've recovered your guag, pigpen !
Can't remember when I last posted, so please excuse any repetition. DS1 spent all day here on Saturday. The emergency plumber's repair to the toilet had turned out to be pretty useless, so DS1 took the cupboard unit apart, re-made the bad connection and used half a tube of silicone to seal it. It is now drying out in there, but somehow we have to get the under-floor cavity dry too, and I suspect that there is still a lot of water down there. I have sprayed a lot of bleach around to kill the mould. DS1 also climbed up on the flat roof: he found no sign of where water might be leaking in, but re-sealed all the seams and cleared the gutter below. Then he took up the floorboards in my study, removed an old squirrel's nest, and left everything open to allow the LR ceiling to dry out. He also left his humidifier running in the LR. I am now living with open windows and open floorboards upstairs, but at least there were no more drips after yesterday's downpours, so I live in hope that the sealant has done the trick. I have ordered a mirror-onna-stick so that I can check further under the floorboards and look for chinks of light coming through the roof.
Yesterday I only managed to do a bit of research and send one email, also had a long messaging chat with my little goddaughter's mum and she sent me some recent photos of E and her baby brother - awwww!
Today's list:
- check finances
- shower, dress and have breakfast (if DH ever gets round to making it)
- wipe over bathroom floor yet again
- with DH's help, move the dehumidifier upstairs to the study to dry out the cavity from above (between us we have two good arms)
- clean the kitchen as per list
- make phonecalls and write cards
- order greengrocery for later in the week
- go out somewhere after lunch - possibly the Lakes shop at the big GC, to get cake tin liners and plants for the garden in one outing, and DH can lose himself in the Hobbies branch there!
- try to book a slot for the PYO fruit farm tomorrow
- Rosie's walk
Fingers and everything else crossed for Kazwookie
(((Hugs)))) all round, especially to dancemum xx
Hope everyone has a good day. Spare spoons on the side and sticks on the lawn - please help yourselves, as needed xx10 -

Afternoon everyone, I thought it was still morning but that must have disappeared from me...lol
Thank you for the thread Valli, count me in this week - I'm going to try and be good this week
Was up at 6.30am but unfortunately felt like doing nothing...guag has sort of gone on a pandemic holiday...lol
So far today I've washed new clothes, from catalogue, and hung on the whirly gig outside. Have another load of new clothes going round..
Have put up a cat proof barrier at the french doors - it's the travel baby gate and my airerThey hate it as they are trying to figure out how to get through.. I've also put a thin oversized scarf across the top bit and pegged it so that they can't try and get through..they would definately try..lol At the moment they are now having a fight over who is going to try to make a bid for freedom..thankfully none of them can. But it means the downstairs has more ventilation coming through
I've ironed what I'm wearing today, plus a couple of other bits.
I really must make the effort to tidy up as my sister is coming for a bit of a chat on Wednesday - she's dropping home my young nephew, after his 2 week holiday at the zoo. It'll be lovely to see her after not seeing her for, yikes lost count of when...lol
Wonder if I would regret throwing everything in sight in a black bag and chucking outside for the rubbish men..lol Actually I did that not long ago, just have to find homes really for the stuff that is cluttering up the living room. Think I will put it all in the cupboard under the stairs, in the plastic boxes it's in. That might actually make the living room look nice and tidy - well that 's the plan.

WOOTY WOOT WOOT KAZ!!!! So pleased it is all done and dusted!!!!
2 baskets of washing to go out.. spent 1.5 hours on the phone to DD1.. sent 3 carriers of clothing to hers.. FLING!!
I now have to deposit a bag of food and 2 fleece blankets at my mothers and we need to do a tip run.. and 3 ebeast items to post.. Someone was saying my item was too expensive.. while she was moaning someone else bought it.. sorted that problem! Apparently if my postage was less she would pay more for the item... say whaaaat????
Apparently I have to go with OH to buy compost... the hydrangea vanille fraise I got for his birthday just arrived so he got those 3 weeks early!
hmm... so many things to do!
