And we don't know whether Supersonos is male or female, so can't say for sure whether they're part of the granma police or the grandad police

I had a flood after a Samsung machine was installed incorrectly. I didn't bother to claim damages as luckily I didn't have to throw too much away, it was more the inconvenience of mopping up water. I was able to work out what the guys had done wrong and fix it, and then set about claiming back the installation fee. They tried to fob me off with a £40 voucher as a 'goodwill gesture' but I stood my ground and have now had the installation fee refunded. Just as in your case, Samsung were saying it was their partner company's issue, not theirs, so I said that was fine, they could refund me and claim the money back from Panther. Suddenly, after days of emailing, the money was back in my PayPal account.
So stand your ground. You know they are in the wrong and that you are entitled to damages - don't let them try to persuade you otherwise. I find it useful to use phrases like 'not acceptable' and 'not meeting your high standards' and I never lose my temper. In the end they're sick to death of me and it's a relief to pay me off! Good luck0 -
