Purplebricks selling review

Maybe I just got a useless agent but when I was looking to buy the PB’s agent was the worst compared to the traditional ones. Other ones actually called and messaged me afterwards asking what I thought etc. PB one did nothing of the sorts and I definitely wouldn’t have wanted to get deeper into the process with that agent. The deeper in you go the more you need a really good agent.

We have just sold our house through PB. We paid up front to avoid using their Conveyancing services; it took a while to sell, not helped of course by lockdown. We did accept an offer before lockdown but that fell through, we lowered the price and got our buyer within days.
Our agent was ok, generally returned calls when I left messages but our photos weren’t great, I re-wrote some of the description and we chose to do all the viewings. Our agent did say he would do any negotiations but we did that ourselves too.
I would consider using PB again as they weren’t all bad and our sale fees are £1k rather than £4K.0 -

The most important part of the sale (aside from finding the buyer) - is sales progression, chasing everyone. You will find PB really lacking in that regard. I wouldn't go near the myself. Traditional agent all the way. I've always gone multi-agency too. Max - four weeks contract.1

Speak to your estate agent - mine did me a great deal at £1300+VAT! They also valued it at £30k more than Purplebricks and its sold in a few days.

I'm selling with purplebricks and they are fine. Agent always communicates with me and responds to any queries I have in good time, including Sundays and evenings! I paid the extra for them to do the viewings as I couldn't commit myself due to work. They were also happy to lock my dog in her crate and let her out after so she wouldn't be following people around during viewings if I was unable to take her out the house. It's more of a digital service as opposed to traditional methods. People book viewings online by a calander where you set the availability (you can either set this so you manage it yourself or the EA can do it if they are doing the viewings.) through this system you can then also communicate with the buyer / seller too. You can make offers online, you can negotiate yourself or ask the agent to do it on your behalf. It's a flexible approach. I suppose your satisfaction purely depends on your local estate agent. Maybe try the system out yourself and book a viewing?0

When I was looking at houses last year I used the email the agent function on the Rightmove website to arrange viewings which worked fine. The exception being Purple Bricks who never replied.0

We have decided not to go with PB as very few people had anything nice to say about them. Finalising tomorrow morning with a local agent, shame its such a good concept, only if their services could get better, even if with a slightly higher fee.1
