The Skinny Food Co

Issues with website - manic pop ups and banners and site crashes or freezes. I was in a hurry to order a gift and gave up. Seems that despite order crashing and no order acknowledgement being received (checked junk mail) they signed me up for weekly deliveries and presented request for funding to my bank. As soon as I realised (email came through seeking review and then advising days later re delivery of weekly items; before original order despatch notice, they wouldn't cancel either order. No telephone or online chat just Zendesk email support and a range of inappropriate and infuriating email responses. It seems you have to create an account (in my view breaching GDPR principles) to cancel the subscription you may not have noticed. You find you have gained points with the purchases; only possible with an account.

They expect you to return the food items for a refund. I'm a key worker and limiting where I'm going and what I'm touching - sending food back when a refund is unlikely (going by other reviews) isn't reasonable in my view.

I revisited the site and on my iOS mobile device the order page jumps and obscures the weekly subscription (even if it defaulted to monthly and was visible it would give harassed customers half a chance to see it and cancel but..). In my opinion the cooling off period doesn't exist as the company says they can't cancel orders. They force you into creating an account and their website isn't DDA compliant - certain visual/sensory impairments and the experience is horrid. I have no idea how the food stuffs taste as still in a box as unwanted. Reviews (eg Google) and Tuesday lunchtime live Fb sessions and posts which are always deleted show I'm not alone.

The Fb feed fills with food suggestions including Fresh Toast hot cross bun with chocolate spread (negligible difference in calories but much more expensive than Nutella) and Peanut Butter gloop and a banana - how this is Skinny I have no idea, I have made contact with advertising standards agency about certain claims and I'm not  alone.

The company have disregarded my original letter of complaint (drafted with advice from citizens advice) and bank cancelled future payments and they are now ignoring my second letter and have deleted posts from Fb. Buyers beware.
