I had a problem with my phone bill I contacted Vodafone and they offered me the promise to pay scheme which we agreed on a amount to my surprise they continued to cut of my account even though I was told this shouldn’t have happened as they put in place the promise to pay I have spoken to numerous people at Vodafone only to be told different information and I would get a call back from a manger within 72 hours this has not happened I rang them yet again and was told to ring the deft collection agency and make arrangements to pay should I do this or do I stick to my guns regarding the promise to pay policy they offered me on one call a adviser told me to stick to my guns and I was told she checked the recording regarding the promise to pay and she admitted that the agent gave me the wrong information I made a payment of 30 pound on the promise to pay instead of 10 pound they received it but then I found out the direct desist was returned as they tried to take the wrong amount again this is the most appalling service I have been with Vodafone for 20 years and the service is terrible I have had no phone since 15 th of may and they are saying they could charge me a extra 500 pound for cancellation fee I didn’t cancel they disconnected my number any advice I would appreciate I am still waiting for a manger to call back it’s been nearl a week

With all due respect I've read this three times and I'm still none the wiser what you're posting about.Does this basically boil down to you owe Vodafone money and you're wondering why they've cut you off?0

Sorry if my rant was confusing I will endeavour to explain the problem more clearly
I had a problem with my bank hence my direct debit to Vodafone didn’t get paid ,I contacted Vodafone to resolve this issue .
i was given the opinion to promise to pay scheme ,I agreed to do this ,I made a promise to pay payment only to find out Vodafone had already sent my account to a collection agency , and my phone had been disconnected .after numerous calls to Vodafone and speaking to numerous agents being told all different advise a week later nothing has been resolved .
i was told on one call to pay 72.20 and my number would be reconnected to which this didn’t happen.i made another call and was told the agent had mislead me and what she said was incorrect and she clearly stated to stand my ground on this matter .
l believe all calls are recorded and the agent confirmed she has listened to the call and I was mislead ,so another call I made and another agent stated I can arrange for you to pay the amount of £72.20 for the next few months my number will be reconnected after 24 hours and she said I will ring you back to confirm your number is active again this did not happen what a surprise.
Yet another call I made to be told this was not said to me again I stated your calls are recorded ,I was now told nothing can be done I have to contact the collection agency and make arrangements to pay then ring Vodafone back to inform them and my number will be reconnected. It has taken over a week to get to this point and I am appalled that I have been lied to on so many calls surely this is unexceptable from such a big company. I have been with Vodafone for over 20 years.
Confusing is a understatement before I close this statement I would like to add I am seeking legal advise on this matter and will continue to do so .0 -
Probably best to take the legal advice rather than random advice on a forum .

So problem with bank and direct debit didn’t get paid. OK at that point why not login to your account and pay manually on a card ?Did you pay the 72.20 to get your phone back online ?Would be better if you provided a time line to these events0

Vodaphone don't just terminate your service and send the debt to a debt collector in the period of less than a month after the bill was due for one missed payment. You'll be contacted first and given the option to make the payment precisely because things can and do go wrong with direct debits as a one off. So what's the real story and how many months are we talking about here?
