We're hopefully going to be building one ourselves (DIY) this year. Fortunately we already have external electrics plus some of the materials (ours will be built in blockwork with timber cladding) including reclaimed gothic style door and windows that cost us nothing 😀😉😎
The roof will be rubber with a lantern for additional natural light.
It will be a decent size (18 x 12') and will double as an office/library and summer living room till we build a two storey extension next year.....
Can't wait to get started!
That's a project and a half! Guess if you're building proper walls out of block that means 1000mm footings, dpc etc etc.

Like FaceHead above, we've got shed loads (pun intended, lol!) of other stuff to get done before starting on this 😉
We're four years into what will probably be a six year project - currently we are completing a bedroom that we made smaller to allow for a better upstairs hallway with lots of built-in storage, then taking up the living room floor (quarries laid on bare soil), to lay new sub floor etc, followed by creating a ground floor cloakroom.....
So, busy, busy 😎
Hopefully we'll be ready to start on the garden room in June 😁
