she was very defensive and said it was a scam etc etc.
Your husband might advise the insurer that his mother is very anxious that the contact is nor genuine and ask that she be sent a formal written communication which she can verify?

When we told her my husband had been traced by this company and they required her to get in touch, she was very defensive and said it was a scam etc etc.
They have been in direct contact with her. She is still not willing to give them a copy of the will. Then your husband needs to ask her why not.

She just said it is very precious to her and she is not willilng even though it only has to be a copy.
One can understand why her refusal even to supply a copy is arousing suspicion.
