I just use a couple - Clinique Happy for day, and No 5 for evenings. I have to be careful with perfume and certainly can't buy without trying it first - for example, Elizabeth Arden 'Blue Grass' smells just like Vic vapour rub on me!0

I used to have loads of perfumes when I was younger, and need to build up a better collection.
If I'm buying I go for the older and cheaper ones but when my Husband is paying then I'm quite partial to Prada perfumes.
I quite fancy treating myself to a Penhaligon perfume, I've only ever walked past the shop in London so no idea what they are like. Anyone have any views on Penhaligon?Make £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

When I was 16 in 1968 my brother gave me some perfume he’d bought on the cross Channel ferry. It was called Cabochard. On me it was stunning and I got loads of compliments. On and off over the years I’ve gone back to it. I’m convinced that, like a lot of perfumes that have been around for years, it is not as good as it was when it was first made in the 1950s.They used to do a bubble bath which was the most amazing blue colour you’ve ever seen and a tiny amount would scent the whole house. Shame they don’t make it any more,0

100% of fragrances will be reformulated due to ingredients being banned companies selling their brands on and the new owners wanting to make more money so cheaper ingredients used. Many hunt down vintage but that can be a minefield in case the perfume has turned if not stored properly.0

I have Christian Dior Eau Sauvage, Chanel No 5 and an alcohol-free scent from UAE called Hanoon Al Qalb, which I bought for the amazing 70s looking black and gold bottle. It's like a warmer, spicier version of Chanel No 5. My mother has zillions of bottles. Her fave is that Clinique Elixir one.0

I find so many perfumes have no longevity. My favourites are some oldies- Tommy girl and ultraviolet. I think this is because they remind me of my younger years0

I love Viktor Rolf Flowerbomb for evening, but am yet to find a suitable daytime scent.0

I have been told that decent perfumes you shouldn't be able to smell on yourself but I think that kind of defeats the point of wearing it.
I do quite fancy having a signature perfume made in Paris but I think that's rather expensive.Make £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

Strangely I got a compliment on my perfume today from the bus driver on my way home we were the only two people on the bus and started chatting. He suddenly said your perfume is lovely I smelt it as you walked pasted after using the bus ticket.
