Is it unreasonable of me to be angry at my neighbours?

I live with my mum in a house she bought a few years ago. Semi-detached, we love the house but the neighbours ruin it for us. Next door yell a lot, drink a lot, we had to tell them off for constantly having loud garden parties that lasted until 4am, sometimes even 8am. Garden parties with loud loud music - surely other neighbours hear it? If it isn't hearing them getting drunk, we hear them having blazing rows.
Granted, they calmed down a LOT since we asked them to keep it down. not as much blasting music anymore but they still have gatherings of loud blokes until really late and its hard to drown the noise out.
Anyway, I don't mind them having fun but Tuesday las week, it was close to midnight and there were kids running around, adults shouting, a BASKETBALL bouncing and crashing on fences. How does nobody in my street complain? Thats the thing - a lot of their loud gatherings happen in the week and it doesn't seem right.
It baffled me when we were in the middle of lock down and they had people over. It was really loud until 3am, they were cheering together while they bounced the basketball. the next day I looked outside at 3am and a man I've never seen in my life was in their garden drinking a pint of lager. Truly very strange. It's happened a lot during lockdown, and of course they're getting even worse as lockdown is easing.
Yet I feel bad for being 'that neighbour'. I feel like we don't match their personality, so they don't want anything to do with us. It's just a sour atmosphere - like we're cramping their style, but I constantly have to remind myself that hang on, its THEM who are out of order! It's not that we're constantly knocking on their door to shut up, we've politely asked once. But we talk pretty loudly about how hard it is and occasionally I've yelled shut up when they've been exceptionally loud.
I don't want an awkward relationship with a neighbour when I can't truly avoid them - given the fact they're so noisy.

Its doesn't sound like complaining will achieve anything, altho you say that they have calmed down a little. Maybe just keep reminding them.Have you done things that would lessen the noise for you, high hedge, wall insulation, triple glazing .....

They are bang out of order. They have absolutely no consideration for anyone else.Won’t the police do anything for disturbing the peace?0

Do they own or rent? If rent then complain to the agent and owner.
This sounds like typical renters, yes I know some on here will disagree with that statement but that is my experience.0 -
Talk to the other neighbours, everyone hopes someone else will do something.0

Whatever you do, remain anonymous. Its one of the stupid things about this country that if a neighbor causes an issue, you potentially lose money on the value of your house. Very unfair.
This is going to be a struggle. I can tell you in advance, the council will do as little as possible. The police might ask them to keep the noise down, but unless there's criminal activity never return. They're obviously heavy drinkers, the type that don't suddenly become civilized overnight.
I take it the seller of the property, didn't declare any issues with the neighbors.
What may be easier for you, is to move house. This is all completely unfair, but there is no easy solution here. Certainly try anonymous letters, make an anonymous complaint to the council and police. But if that fails, there is little you can do. Sue them maybe, then you live next door to an alcoholic enemy.
You may lose money on a sale, or you may sell it to one of the growing numbers of idiots that have dogs barking and defecating in their own gardens.
Or, just hope that they move out one day. Which they will do if they are tenants.
