My phone auto updated (android) last night and now when I scroll photos (most but not all) don't display.
So I see a caption or whatever referring to a photo, but no photo.0 -

Seems FB "fixed" the loophole and no way back nowAdvice is uninstall the "revert" in case it interferes somehow and use FBP to stop ads, sort feeds etcHere's his postingDisaster strikes for Revert Site. It looks like Facebook have closed the loophole that the Revert Site extension was using to get the old Facebook design back.I will try and find a way around it, but this could be the end of the old design for us, unless you are a Page or Group admin, and have the option at the top left of the group/page itself to revert for 48 hours.I guess I will just need to resume work on improving F.B. Purity's functionality for the new Facebook design. Thanks for all the support folks, it really is much appreciated.BTW If you have FBP's "Switch back to old Facebook design" option turned on, turn it off, as the option is no longer working, and may cause unexpected side effects.. If you have the "Revert Site" extension installed, disable that too for now in the browser's extensions management page, as that extension could also cause unwanted side effects. What a bummerBummer indeedAny clues as to how to stop the white header (with the search and all the icons) not moving up the page when scrolling?I've used PBP to remove the one box (can't remember it's name)0

EssexExile said:You soon get used to the new FB and forget what the old one was like.Indeed. Like I said earlier in the thread, everybody will pee and moan about the new look for a while, threaten to take their business elsewhere, and then in a few days time they'll come back anyway to the new look and they'll be like "I've always liked this look". Until the next time Facebook redesigns, and so the cycle repeats.Facebook has about 74% of the social market share (76% if you include Instagram which Facebook also own) globally. If you consider less than probably 1/10th of the user base if that complain on the community forums about a new look, you can probably appreciate why if people/businesses "threaten" to move away, it's almost always an empty threat if you want a decent audience to wave your product in front of/build awareness of something.0

FBP/Revert Site seems 'broken' again today

Makes me wonder who decides to make these changes, sometimes reverted when its a larger company and enough userscomplain. When its a smaller team though the programmer decides what the users wants and often will not deviate fromthat path even when users move away.Getting annoyed with Thunderbird email myself, yet another auto update that killed several add-ons without asking. One addonis the ability to show the senders true email address not just the FROM which is easily changed by the most dim witted scammer.Found old threads from when they first removed it and they said nobody wanted it. Did they not count all the users thatdownloaded addons to put that functionality back? Maybe they should put it back with a big button saying click here toremove it and see how many actually do remove it.If you have not seen other (better) options then what they offer on facebook is probably all those users know, changefor the better or worse is just accepted. What can you do?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

As you say - some guy has obviously gone to much trouble to make 'revert site' because people want it - so why are FB so keen to stop him? Is it perhaps an advertising revenue stream that FBP/RS maybe blocks?I can understand MSE needing to implement a new forum if the old one was creaking at the seams .... just a shame that they chose a s h y t e replacement when I'm sure something better was probably available.🤷♂️0

Almost certainly because people have used things like this, had an issue with Facebook and complained to them when the issue was caused by Revert Site "interfering" for want of a better term. Hardly surprising Facebook try to block it.Re: the MSE forum,Vanilla Forums also powers other online forums (as per here) and it was almost certainly chosen for the ability to run in the cloud. (and run by Vanilla, so if it keels over and dies not MSE's responsibility to get it back up and running again as it would have been previously). May have been the sheer amount of data that required migrating.0
