Can't Send Text Messages
Options
Hi Guys
I am having a problem sending text messages i can receive them fine, after all day yesterday searching for an answer and trying different things it works out that it is the Message Centre Number not in there were it should be.
Rang 3 and that was a waste of time and in the end the custom service person not English said wait a min and i try and find out and never came back.
he didn't have a clue.
So what the problem is i cannot change it because its greyed out and can't be changed.
I have tried my sim in different phones and still the same problem...I Have a Old Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge all working apart for the sending text.
Have any of you wizards kids got any idea how to get round my problem it would be much appreciated.

You can try adding the APN settings manually .

This was posted on XDA a while back as an issue with some Samsung's, one fix was this:
'What I did was actually go to:
Messaging -> Settings -> Restore default settings
Then the Message Center was no longer grayed. I went in and entered'
Could be worth a try?

Thanks for the replies guys but i have tried both your answers and there is no way to input the number because it's greyed out. The first thing i did was reset the APN settings again i think thats how the number changed because my text was ok till i reset the apn i did it because my data was a bit slow so i reset the apn and thats where everything has gone wrong.
My phone doesn't have the Restore default settings in the messenger setting.
I even tried the code *#*#4363#*#* that is floating about and that didn't work....It looks like the only people that can sort this is Three.

Three should be able to send out a config file which would install all their setting for you. There used to a few on the net that anyone could use, but they all appear to have vanished.
The only other solution I can think of would be a complete reset. But that will wipe everything from the phone, so unless you want to backup everything and try it's a bit of overkill just to get the MC number in there!!

Thanks for trying to help i managed to sort it out.
The way i did it in the end was i use a motorola moto e which i have had for a few years, anyway the code i used before on my samsung didn't work but it did on the moto, a menu came up and the SMSC was at the bottom of the menu,
all i did was refresh it and the number came up.
So after 2 days i am now happy its working but was a bit of a pain to get there.
The strange thing is that was the third phone i tried to do it with.....I suppose third time luckyNobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.1 -
