Your brother must list everything a part of an inventory! It is all part of your fathers estate and would be sold and the proceeds distributed under the terms of the will. You must get legal support immediately.

As for accepting your brothers offer, you didn’t formalise this as you would need to do a deed of variation. Also your brother cannot give you money from the estate until six months after May the 11th- when he actually got probate. As people have six months to put in a claim after probate has been given.

Just to add, I know you are angry as I am in exactly the same position but do not keep on emailing his solicitor. Get your own solicitor to write a letter- please make use of free advice like I have. Both you and your sister need to do that - remember to print out every message he’s sent, you’ve sent, make sure you have the will- and as you said- do not pander you your brother. He will come unstuck and good!!!
Can i ask whats happening your end, i am so fed up of, being called a gold digger for asking for what i am entilted to, hes the greedy one whos got my mum brainwashed and wrapped round his little finger

Thanks for this info, again different to what i have been told, can i post the emails i got from the solictors on this forum if i blanked out names and things?

The solictor told me 3 months ago (before probate started on the 11th may) that i would have my inheritance in 4 months which would of been july, and maybe even sooner 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
Thats really odd they said that if you said it takes 6 months after probate which was 11th may 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

If i can post screenshots here i will so you can see, i dont know if i am allowed?

Because he lives in the house (he lived with my dad before and still remains there) he seems to act like they just belong to him now, like all the house contents because he lives there

And me and my sister got no idea what there really is as again he has not told us, i think because he wants to buy the house he thinks that there just remain there and be his 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

I don’t know if you are allowed to post screenshots. Sorry! All I know is that he isn’t acting legally!! He can’t decide what to keep- he has to follow the will. I am having problems with someone who is dictating to me as well- saying what I can and can’t have! So I’m getting legal support and have a meeting tomorrow!

Yes, I bet you are fed up with being called a gold digger. He will now twist and manipulate everyone around him to attempt to make him look like the better person. You have to remind yourself that you are guiltless and that he is toxic. He will try and turn everyone against you to make him feel better for what he is doing. Rise above it, get legal support. I think they will advise you to get an inventory of the estate and that is where your brother will have to go to court to justify estate accounts. If there is anything amiss, then he can be challenged. Hopefully it will bring him to his senses!

What provision has been made for your mother? It just seems really odd for everything to be divided between the three of you with no mention for your mother, who is presumably still living in the house?
