Flight cancelled, but not accommodation

Hi
Looking for advice.
Have just been phoned by Jetline travel, to inform us of the cancellation of our holiday. He then continued with the information that our flight is cancelled but our accommodation is not and we will only get a refund on the flight, from Jetline Holidays. The refund from the accommodation, can only be done through our travel insurance, which we brought straight away. We had only paid half, due to not being able to get through, to paid the full balance.
Are we right in thinking the travel company should give us all the money back we have paid?

Yes I can confirm this is a package holiday.0

Then Jetline Holidays is talking complete nonsense.
You are entitled to a full cash refund (hotel & flights) from them within 14 days.
If they still refuse go to your card company if you paid that way.

In fact I am wondering if the case is the same, if we haven’t paid the full amount?0

Doesn't matter, if they cancelled they owe you a refund of everything you paid.stauce_2 said:In fact I am wondering if the case is the same, if we haven’t paid the full amount?

Good we wasn’t sure, so we was waiting for your reply, but in that time Jetline just rung us saying it’s in there term and conditions, any refundable sums that Jetline cannot recover, will need to be claimed on the travel insurance.
There also saying, it’s unprecedented times and the best they can do is refund the flight.0 -
More rubbish as no companies T&Cs override Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements 2018stauce_2 said:Good we wasn’t sure, so we was waiting for your reply, but in that time Jetline just rung us saying it’s in there term and conditions, any refundable sums that Jetline cannot recover, will need to be claimed on the travel insurance.

My guess (and that's all it is!) - you bought a package, not separate flight and accommodation (as I did).
I reckon you're entitled to a refund for the whole package. I booked flight and apartment separately, my flight will be refunded but the apartment has offered a credit for a future booking (not refund but that's OK with me) , rightly stating (in my view) the apartment is still available, it's not their fault I can't get there. But as I said, that's my feeling. Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!0
