    £100 a week here.    Petrol, parking, going to football, rehearsing with the band, mobile data charges (I used it far too much!) and my weekly £2 football bet.
    Oh and had a refund from Easyjet, sold a football shirt for £30 and await a £150 refund for a cancelled rock festival.
    Doing nothing is cheap - but not much fun!

  • Being able to work from home has been saving me a lot of time and money. I hope to continue working from home even once COVID-19 eventually goes away, or at least limited to a few days a week at the office. For me, savings look like this per month:
    Train: £443.60
    Station Parking: £6.50 per day x 20 days = £130
    Lunch: £10 per day (I always used to eat out for lunch at work) x 20 days = £200
    Daily morning coffee: £3.20 per day x 20 days = £64
    Sometimes I would have beers at lunch or in the evening before going home and leave the car in the station car park overnight and get taxi, but ill ignore that cost as I cant really calculate it...
    So, for me, I am saving give or take £837.60 every... single... month!
    Quite happy with that!

    Whole lotta savin' goin' on!  With you saving nigh on £600 a month in travel, is it better to work nearer home (when things do back to "normal"?

    Saving over £550 a month just on the commuting costs alone!  That's enabled me to open a LISA and stash some of the money away as well as pay for work that needed doing around the house.  Really hoping to get away with 1 day a week in the office going forwards so that will help me to continue saving.
    Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £
    LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000
    Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 2017
  • We are a family of five who have been able to save about several thousands since the start of this pandemic, due to no commuting costs, no foreign holidays and few activities outside of the home.
  • Due to the pandemic, I save at least £ 200 every month.
  • When lockdown 1.0 started, I was so sure I'd save loads of money! In fairness, I barely had a commute before (a few minutes each way in the car  :o) but I ended up spending it on things for around the house, more alcohol (whatever gets you through the day) etc etc. I did also buy a house towards the end of last year so money has been swallowed in that.

    If I put my mind to it, I KNOW I could save a lot of money, and I've just started trying for a baby so that has now become priority for me to do from now on. Let's hope I can make it work!

    Also, saved thousands by not going on holiday or meals out. Very lucky position as retired.
  • About 1k a month. Due to no commute, no food/drinks out, no childcare fees, no kids clubs, not as many new clothes or as many shoe shoes! We often travelled quite a distance to visit family regularly, so haven’t been able to do that. It has been a shocker really. Saved a fair bit of money in this very unfortunate situation.
