I always thought that your current car insurance supplier would be more expensive?

For the last two years my current car insurer has been the cheapest. Each time I shopped around they have beaten the lowest price from the major price comparison websites. Is this a change in how Insurers operate?

for some reason direct line has been competitive for both car and home insurance, despite previous claims. Happy with the service and claims dept so far. Even got my parents with them too and it comes out cheaper for them too.
