Yes might be worth seeing if your HR dept can write you a letter. At least you'd feel like you were doing something.
Sympathise with your situation. I had to pull out of a purchase last year due to redundancy, 2nd property had cladding issues and now hoping this one goes through. Fingers crossed 3rd time lucky for both of us!
