How long after valuation? Halifax

  • @Lorenzo94 Did you try calling them at all? Other than unexpected absence, I can't think of any reason why a broker wouldn't have a system to let you know when an offer is received from the lender.

I tried to call them and unfortunately no one is available! Halifax confirmed that the only thing keeping them from issuing me an offer is the confirmation from the mortgage adviser about my shift allowance! How hard can it be for him to do it? I am seriously thinking to go to Halifax on Monday and ask them if I can move my case directly with them if that's even possible!
  • @Lorenzo94 Ok it makes more sense now if there isn't an offer yet.
Is the  shiftallowance a variable/discretionary component of your income? If so a lot of lenders are not willing to consider it for affordability purposes (unless you are working for the NHS) so that may be why your broker has gone awol.

I work for TfL and my shift allowance is fixed (always paid on top of my salary regardless of the hours I work).
I started receiving it from March but HR has been slow in updating my payslip so it will eventually be back paid from March as soon as it’s sorted out. I have my manager’s email stating that and I have also sent it my adviser already. I really don’t know why they are being so unprofessional.

@Lorenzo94 In that case it shouldn't be a problem, eventually once alternate proof has been provided.

The standard proof Halifax ask for on their intermediaries website is 3 months payslip for the track record of shift allowance.

Did you leave a 1-star Trustpilot review yet? Trust me it works :)

Yes I did. Let's see if that works. Also next Wednesday it's the day payroll produces my payslip. I hope they'll start putting my shift allowance as it's causing me all these issues! Never thought that organisations as big as TfL had so many flaws in it haha

Sorry for my ignorance who is l&c? I've gone direct with Halifax. My valuation has apparently been booked because someone at Halifax said they arranged to get the keys but Halifax are being pretty useless. Once it's done who should I then contact as I'd like it to be done fast as we made the offer on the home last year and feel I've been messing the sellers about with change of jobs in January and also I had a mortgage advisor which ghosted on me although I've not been affected by furlough.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

L&C is an intermediarie. They’re arranging my mortgage. Well if you have applied through Halifax directly, speak to them. They have just got back to me (L&C) saying that Halifax now need my March and April payslips. I’m speechless as I have provided them already. I hope they won’t mess things up as I get paid every four weeks.
  • @Lorenzo94 They've finally got back that's great! Not good that they're asking for the same thing again though. I hope they're not looking for the shift allowance which isn't shown on the payslips yet. Hopefully they will provide an explanation and the letter from HR.

I provided my manager’s email where it’s stated that he’s sorting it out and that I will received the allowance back paid from March. Hope that suffices. Seriously this hone buying thing is becoming a pain in the !!!!!!. Being my third time trying to buy! First time couldn’t get a mortgage due to cladding issues, second time the seller pulled out after the mortgage was approved due to COVID-19 and now this. I hope it’s going to be my lucky time!
