MP3 Music USB in TV - Questions

Thanks for reading !
I have about 100gb of MP3 albums that I would like to copy onto a 128GB memory stick and then play through tv etc
One of my friends said that it wouldn't play through my tv as the USB stick was too large memory wise (128gb) !!
I haven't bought the stick yet but wanted to know, is there any foundation in his comment ?
I've had a dry run with a 4gb stick and it worked seamlessly....
Comments, advice and help are all welcome, thank you !
Ps I have a LG TV UF770v 49"
Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.

Not sure how old the TV is, or if Web OS on it has had and recent updates.

    But...

Works fine on my LG TV (Well I assume it does, never bothered with MP3's on it but I use a 128GB stick for media (NTFS format so I can have large files (FATX may also work, I however see no reason to test since NTFS is fine). It is also happy if you plug in a lot bigger hard drive. (which beyond data moving slower looks the same to the TV).

I guess some TV's may have silly restrictions. But WEB OS (and any android based tvs (some sony?)) is a proper OS so things generally work.

https://www.lg.com/uk/support/product-help/CT00008334-1435837452345 suggests a Flash drive of 32GB or less, yet also supports up to 2TB with a HDD. (Albeit the HDD will require an external PSU). If you can borrow a Flash drive of 64GB or bigger then you could give it a whirl.

I looked up the model, looks like an older version of mine. I am now 99% sure it will work. Mine even works with a 2.5 inch 1TB external with no power.

I see it says recomended (aka we have not tried) and the web page is from 2016 so outdated. Guess web page not written by anyone looking at the tech details as usual.

That was merely a result from a quick search, as a guide. I give no warranty as to the veracity of any search result. :)

Can't beat a "Yes it will work" followed by a "It might not work" - that made me laugh out loud !
Are you a politician by any chance ??
Thanks for all your help ! I'll give it a go and report back !

Unless you have your TV playing through a decent soundbar or speakers it's going to sound poor via the TV.
