Hi, I was looking to buy a SIM free phone and stumbled across Major Mobiles who I have never heard of - would anyone recommend - or not?  Thanks.

Are they?  I thought they were cheaper!  I just signed a deal with 02 and then realised I'd be better off buying the phone outright and sticking with my SIM only deal, so in processing of cancelling.  I need 64gb with good camera.  Always had Samsung but feel there may be others as good and cheaper out there.  My current Samsung only has 8gb storage so I can't download any more apps.

I buy from Amazon, no probs to return
  • CHEAP IMPORTS!; Major Mobiles sell phones which are imported from Panama at a fraction of price. Therefore, the frequencies are not appropriate for UK market so phone reception will be significantly impaired. Plus some functionality is not available such as Samsung Pay. No refund after 30 days despite advertised. AVOID!

Avoid them like the plague ... although the products are cheaply priced the do not honor their warrenty claim. I had my new S10 for 9 months when an update turned it into a brick... they just ignored my calls and emails, nobody got back to me..... If you do use them ask for the T's and C's upfront and READ them.....  They wont send you a copy after the event and if you need to take them to court its useful to have. They use a company to handle their calls who wont put you though to anyone and wont give their name. I have reported to trading standards...... If you get past your warranty period without issue you would never know that's they type of company they are.

  • Absolutely avoid Major Mobiles, we purchased an iPad from them in January 2020, it just stopped charging and never worked again in June 2021.  We contacted Apple to have a look and to identify the fault, they confirmed in writing that the iPad was in immaculate condition and that it had suffered an hardware fault.  we were informed that the iPad was not a UK item and that they could not help us further and informed us to go back to Major Mobiles.  We contacted Major Mobiles to report the fault and to claim through their two year warranty.

They offered us £35, which on reflection they would have never paid out.  They told us to get it repaired and to claim the money, at no stage did they offer any warranty assistance or an exchange.  On further review many other people are having these same issues.

We left a negative review on Trustpilot to warn others of the issues we had faced, on multiple occasions, Major mobiles have had the negative review removed, claiming we were not a genuine customer, even through my receipt confirms that they were paid direct.

We have tried multiple times to keep our reviews on Trustpilot, within days they are removed, we also noticed that other negative reviews were disappearing.  So basically the negative reviews barley scratch the surface, the majority have been removed, does this seem like a genuine, honest, worthy, company?

if you Google them they don’t exist in the UK, the business address is a forwarding address, they are actually based in the USA.  If you are lucky enough to get to return an item, the items are returned to an address in the states at great cost to you not them.

If you search for them on Companies House they are in the process of been struck off for not completing their taxes, they have been in this process for months.  At any time they could be wound up by the UK government for non payment of tax leaving potential new customers with nothing.

They manipulate reviews to look like they are a fantastic company, but do your research, the majority of reviews on Trustpilot are for good delivery, we have seen multiple negative reviews taken off so 4% negative is no where near what it actually is, we have also witnessed when negative reviews are added the number of positive reviews ramps up to make the negative disappear from the most recent.

I admit I am scorned and feel completely ripped off by this company and have gone to great lengths to leave negative reviews on multiple sites about them, others can make their own decision but the facts are
    - you do not receive a UK item
    - it may arrive without a UK plug
    - the warranty means nothing and because it is not a UK item, it will most likely develop charging faults.
