Any idea how to lubricate and clean double glazing windows hinge?

  • standard wd40 is not a lubricant it is a moisture repellent as suggested above silicone, ptfe ,grafite best are sprays and only a fine mist . Do not use spray grease as suggested unless its grafite because it will attract debris which will cause any mechanism to deteriorate

    Just wanted to say thanks - I've been wondering the same about our windows for a little while, and just hadn't got around to putting WD40 on them - glad I kept forgetting now!

    I use 3-in-1 because it's a light oil and a film of it should stay in place for some time, where as WD40 is quite volatile and evaporates off quickly.
