Any idea how to lubricate and clean double glazing windows hinge?

Hi All,
Need some suggestion for how can I clean  double glazing windows hinges and the hinge mechanism.?
We bought the house last June and since then they are not lubricated.
Do double glazing window hinges need a special treatment after a certain period?
Any special fluid that I need to use?
Thanks in advance.

If  you mean those with plastic sliders, just wash them with plenty of water. IMO, any lubricant will just collect abrasive dust.

    Sorry for the confusion,
I am talking about the hinge and the metal parts.

Spray them with either WD40 or a silicone lubricant.

    WD40 is all you need.

Careful.  Some WD40 stuff can stain or degrade certain plastics.  WD40 (and other companies) do all sorts of sprays some including silicone and ptfe which may be preferable to the 'basic' wd40 water repellant spray.

Try to find what your door/window makers say to use?
  • +1 for silicone spray I use it on my tools
Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'You're making a scene.'

I use a ptfe spray. It dries out enough to not attract dirt, but seems to keep on lubricating OK.
I've tried various things over the years and this seems the best yet.
Personally, I wouldn't use "ordinary" WD40 for the reasons given.
It's great stuff for general use, but if you have a specific job there are better things.
Some, as already said, made by WD40 themselves.

I use 3 in 1 oil after internet advice. Small spray can is cheap enough.

I'd use a spray grease. you wan't as as much spray grease in the metal locking pin mechanisms as you can possibly get.

WD40 to clean, wipe it off then apply light machine oil. 3 in 1 is OK, sewing machine oil is lighter.
