Hi guys,
Hope your all well, just got the news at the end of last week that I have got my morgage approved (offer on house accpected, suvery done and morgage approved ), so just wondering what i need to do next or what i could be doing coming up to the move? Seen advice for leading up to buying a house and saving etc but just wondering is there anything out there to help with what to do during the moving phase, if that makes sense.

Ooookay...
First off, what do you mean by "got my mortgage approved". You mean you have a decision in principle ("Yeh, we're happy to lend you £x"), and you haven't found a house yet?
If so, then the first thing is to find a house.0 -

So you're in the middle of conveyancing, and the lender have approved the property subject to valuation... and are offering you the opportunity to include a survey in that valuation visit?
What stage is all the rest of the conveyancing at?
I presume you're an FTB, so no chain...? I hope you've not handed in notice to your current landlord yet? Deposit/HtB/LISA etc all underway? Have you thought about removals? Have you started sorting, decluttering your stuff, binning extraneous junk, and maybe packing the rarely-used stuff?0 -
Have you appointed a solicitor to get the contracts and searches and all other legal stuff done? That’s the longest part.

As for the removals i plan to do it myself with friends and family as it's on the same street lol. i had a few days of at the start of the lockdown so done a bit of decluttering etc and will contuine to do this. I've boxes etc got ready to move so a bit closer to the time i will start to pack more.

Thanks, yeah solicitor was appointed at the start and it was just this lockdown that stopped/ slowed everything down.FtbDreaming said:Have you appointed a solicitor to get the contracts and searches and all other legal stuff done? That’s the longest part.
Congratulations
Apart from the decluttering and packing i just feel like i'm missing something and i could be doing more.

DON'T. Not until you've exchanged. If it means a few weeks more rent, so be it - better than finding the sale collapses at the last minute, and you've got a week to move out.soupy600 said:

We found having a massive declutter and packing things in a sensible order and in labelled boxes made the move so much smoother and made upacking at the other end so much easier and less stressful.
We only had three and a half weeks from reserving our new build to moving in so we got on with the packing pretty much straight away only leaving essential items until the last minute.
Don't forget to sort out your home and contents insurance in plenty of time.1 -
does the exchange not normally happen the week before?AdrianC said:
