Selling on eBay without PayPal account

I was under the impression that it was possible to sell stuff on eBay without a PayPal account, but I can't seem to find exactly how to do it. It's been a few years since I used eBay to sell anything.

No it is not possible and hasn’t been for about 15 years or so. PayPal must be offered on every listing, apart from some exceptions like motor vehicles. So if you don’t have a PayPal account you cannot sell.

However, eBay are rolling out their own payment system , they optimistically suggest all business sellers will be enrolled by next year (nothing yet about private sellers) and when that is in place then you won’t need a PayPal account. However in the US eBay are about 2 years behind on the roll out so it might be some time for you yet.

Well that just show how behind the times I am! Thanks for that, though. I will just have to hold my nose and get another PayPal account.

What happened to the previous account that you had?
If you try to set up a new account and some of the details match those used for the old account, it's possible that you may run into problems.

As long as you closed your last one in good standing opening a new PayPal account shouldn’t be too difficult. They do require identification if you reach certain turnover levels and as a new seller your funds will be held for 21 days until you get established.
