Faulty Macbook less than 6 months old - how to proceed
Last night the screen went totally blank.
I have spoken to Amazon 'technical chat' who told me there wasn't anything they could do and advised me to speak to 'Apple technical chat' which I did.
Apple chat gave me a couple of solutions of resetting various RAMS neither of which worked.
They told me it was probably a hardware issue and I needed to return it for repair under warrenty
I need the macbook for work and my daughter is currently using it for her schoolwork so being without it isn't really an option as none of Apple shops are open.
However the laptop is less than 6 months old

How to get your laptop fixed for free
This depends upon when you bought the laptop. If you have just got it then you could reasonably expect your money back or a replacement rather than a repair. If the laptop was bought less than six months ago it is assumed to have been faulty when it was delivered and the shop has to prove otherwise.
How do I battle this out?

Amazon do have the legal right to insist on a repair. You can state your preference for a refund but ultimately it's down to their decision.2stixoftwixes said:According to this website

You would only be entitled to insist on a refund if it went faulty within the first 30 days or if it failed more than once. With a single failure after 30 days, the retailer can decide to repair, replace or refund.0 -

Have you managed to speak with Amazon via livechat and explained the item is less than 6 months old, therefore the fault is deemed inherent (unless Amazon can prove otherwise).0 -
If purchased for business use, you lose a lot of your rights.
Regardless, your right is to a repair only - so you will need to make alternative arrangements.0 -

£50 will get you a laptop that your daughter can do school work on. I assume you that you are going to need something more powerful for your work?
If it's for work, then you do not have CONSUMER rights. It would be a business to business transaction. Did you pay for it personally or as a company asset?
