TUI Booking Incentive Help

Hi,
My partner and myself had a package holiday booked with TUI due to depart on 2nd July 2020. We checked with TUI and they publicly announced they would be resuming operations from 1st July and that all holidays from that date would be going ahead as planned, but that customers could amend their holidays for free if required. After waiting until 3 weeks before our departure date, we decided to move the holiday to early September, hoping travel would be slightly easier by then.
However, this was awful timing as less than 24 hours after amending our holiday, I received an email informing me that TUI had now cancelled all holidays up to the 10th July and that anyone affected would receive refund credit as well as a separate 20% booking incentive. After contacting TUI, they said we are not entitled to the 20% booking incentive because we had already amended the holiday ourselves less than 24 hours before.
I was wondering if I had any entitlement to the 20% booking incentive in this case? TUI don't seem to say much in their T&Cs in relation to our unusual situation, but I feel it is unfair that we wouldn't be able to apply this to our booking/a future booking just because we amended the holiday 24 hours too early.
Thanks!

You might like to read this thread:It's not exactly the same situation as you but it is about TUI changing the rules. The OP amended a holiday and later the holiday was cancelled so she now wants the refund she would have got if she hadn't acted prematurely.Read the first reply. As a later poster says "you jumped too soon".I don't see that you have any entitlement to the 20% booking incentive but I can see why you think that's unfair.ETA:I've just found a relevant thread:
