New sewing machine failed during Lockdown

In January 2020, I bought a new Janome sewing machine direct from a Hobbycraft shop. About a month into lockdown, it developed a fault with the tension wheel and has therefore become unusable. I looked on both Hobbycraft and Janome sites but could find no contact details to report a faulty machine. Now that Hobbycraft is about to re-open, what are my rights? I still have the receipt and I also registered the machine online with Janome when I bought it. In a perfect world, I would like to return the machine and get a full refund - I don't want a replacement in case the same thing happens again. Would appreciate any advice.

As it failed "about a month into lockdown", this would imply sometime in mid to late April. As this is more than 30 days from purchase, the retailer has the option to repair, replace or refund. You can state your preference but ultimately it comes down to their choice of which remedy to provide.Ageingrockchick said:I would like to return the machine and get a full refund - I don't want a replacement in case the same thing happens again.
