Based on the limited information you have provded it appears that your UC award could include
Standard Allowance £594.04- Child element for 3 children £752.91 (if the 17 year old is still taken into account).
- LCWRA element (if partner is in ESA Support Group and already had this award when you claimed UC) £341.92. This element is not included if he is in the ESA assessment phase.
- carer element £162.92
- housing element - the amount depends on your rent liability and/or the Local Housing Allowance
There will then be- Deduction for Carer’s Allowance £291.41
- Deduction for ESA (if in Support Group) £492.05. If in ESA Assessment phase the deduction will be £322.18.
- For any earnings there will be a deduction of 63% of the amount over £292 if you rent or 63% of the amount over £512 if you do not rent.

I note from another thread of the OP that the husband received the NHS shielding letter so maybe claimed ESA because of that reason. I also note that the husband has their own LTD company so maybe earnings were also received during the AP as well as the ESA deductions. Difficult to advise without more information from the OP.

I had missed that. ESA would be Assessment rate then. I have no idea whether someone claiming on grounds of shielding is referred for a WCA or not.poppy12345 said:I note from another thread of the OP that the husband received the NHS shielding letter so maybe claimed ESA because of that reason. thank youYou've posted on the end of someone elses thread. Starting your own would have better because your question is different to what the thread is about.Living at home with you won't stop a claim for UC for him.Whether or not he's entitled to UC now will depend whether he's a student now? If he is does he claim a qualifying benefit such as PIP or DLA?If he's not a student until September then he can claim UC even if he's not claiming one of the qualifying benefits. Once he starts Uni then he will need to report the changes and his UC may stop but this will depend on circumstances.0
