Sorry but your post has very little information for anyone to guess what the issues might be. If you want help, please post more information in future.
What was the award before deductions ? Std allowance ? Housing ? Children ? Carers Element ?
What are the £1200 of deductions on the claim ? Yes Carers Allowance is deducted, but what else ? Earnings deduction ?
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
UC works by giving you a maximum entitlement. The amount you are paid will be reduced by other income (although there are some exclusions such as DLA or PIP).
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0 -
Sorry we are a couple claim with 3 children from 17yrs old in college down to 11 yrs old and a 18yr old daughter that's had to claim uc I'm a carer and my partner has had to self isolate due to copd plus he has athristis and gets esa plus my rent which is £375 gets taken out and paid directly to my landlord but they had my partner has earning over £650 for last month which he hasn't as he's had to stay home so took money off for that plus money off for our advance payment which is right. Just didn't think they would take nearly 80% off us and leave us to live off just over £150 a week for a family of 6huckster said:Sorry but your post has very little information for anyone to guess what the issues might be. These payments are 5 weeks in arrears so your earnings would have gone back a few weeks.
Also, if you log into your account online everything is very clearly spelled out for you.0 -
Did your partner receive the money during your assessment period?Jesterrmum1703 said:

A small technicality, but your UC is for a family of 5, not 6 as your 18yo daughter claims UC in her own right.0 -

Assessment period (AP) runs from start of your claim for a month and the claim is then month by month.
e.g. If you Started claim on 10th April 2020, your first AP would run from 10/04/20 to 09/05/20, your second AP would run from 10/05/20 to 09/06/20 etc etc. And for each AP, everything that relates to or is reported in the AP would be taken into account, when your statement is calculated.
So if your husbands employers reported earnings to HMRC during any AP, the earnings would be taking into account. Universal Credit receives earnings information from HMRC, which an employers has added to the HMRC RTI earnings system. So if your Husbands employers did not pay any money to him during your Universal Credit claim, your Husband first needs to contact his employers to ask them to correct the HMRC reporting, if they have made a mistake. Once the employers have corrected any error, then contact Universal Credit to raise an earnings dispute. Universal Credit will then look into this and if necessary contact HMRC and HMRC may contact the employers,
Please log into your Universal Credit claim online and on your home page, you should be able to view your payments. The payment statements will provide all of the information your claim is based upon. If you can share this information, we might be able to see whether a mistake has occurred. If you don't want to share this information, then phone Universal Credit and discuss your claim with them, saying you want to check the statements to see if they are paying you the correct amounts,The comments I post are personal opinion. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.1 -

Is your partner claiming New style ESA or Contributions based ESA? If so then the ESA will be deducted in full from your UC entitlement.

It would be sensibleforyou to try and understand how UC works. This might help https://www.understandinguniversalcredit.gov.uk/new-to-universal-credit/how-much-youll-get/Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

Would it not be easier to reply with the amounts you were awarded and deducted? People will be able to understand then.0
