The  Government advice doesn't matter to flights only.

out of interest, why doesn't it matter to flights only?

It's due Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements 2018 that covers package holidays
My understanding is under the above Act FCO advice against travel  will be classed as "significant change" so a person can cancel and get a refund, so very unlikely that package holiday will go ahead with that advice remains
Flight only isn't covered under this rules.

  • I booked outbound and return flights with Easyjet 23rd June and return on 2nd July both flights are on one booking.  The outbound was cancelled so requested refund which went fine with them confirming with a refund request reference number. I then recieved a further email saying flight times for return flight have changed. I am not sure what happens with the return fight as it is still active,  potentially it will go ahead as Greece opening up to international flights.   On my booking showing as live.  Will I have to claim separately for the return flights or will they automatically refund both flights?

I am in a similar situation. Outward flight cancelled but inward not cancelled yet. The easyjet refund form says only one refund per booking reference can be submitted. I don't know whether to apply for my outward refund now or wait until hopefully the inward flight is cancelled too. I’m worried I’ll apply for the first refund now and when I come to apply for the second refund it won’t let me and will say something along the lines of there’s already a refund request in process.
  • I've just spoken to a very helpful chap at Easyjet. He has put a refund through for my inbound flight, and I've received an email confirmation. I emphasised that the outward flight was cancelled so we couldn't get to France to take the return flight. He did go and check with someone so hopefully it is sorted and we will get both flights refunded at some point. Just to note, my flights were on separate bookings. I've read elsewhere on here that if your flights are on the same booking reference they will both be refunded on the same transaction - obviously that's only what I've read on here!
  • Hi, My outward flight for October was cancelled but the return flight was still operating. I went to my Manage your Booking account  to get a refund - entered the Booking confirmation - and assumed that to both outward and return flights would be cancelled together. However this is not correct - you need to contact Easyjet direct - as the website does not let to cancel the return leg to get a refund - only a voucher.  Today at 0810 I got through immediately on the Easyjet 0330 number - I did this by  choosing "any other business" option 5 - and the operator was able to very efficiently ensure I received a refund.  So beware- if your outward flight is cancelled - your return leg is still active unless you take action to phone to ask for a refund. If you just want a voucher for the return leg  or wish to change to another date then that can be done online. Hope this helps,

If you do it through the Refund Request form linked from the Covid links it states "Once the online refund request is processed, it will be applied to all flights on the booking, excluding any flights that have already been flown."
