Three Asking for Money End Of Contract

Options
Ive just finished my contract with Three after 5 years as i got a better deal on EE

Had to go online and cancel my contract as u cant call them what a nightmare that was

So i managed to chat online and cancel my contract a month before it finished as u have to give notice

5 days before the end of my contract i asked for a PAC Code as i was never given one when i orignally cancelled my contract and was put on pay as u go even though i had already paid for the month and had 6 days remaining

And now i recieve a letter 2 months later saying i owe £14.42

Phoned up and there refusing to ammend the fee saying i owe it and u dont pay in advance and that is what i owe from the previous month

Is This Correct ????

Probably. Mobile phone companies usually bill contracts in arrears so they can include the out of contract use during the previous month. Don't know if they still do it but Plusnet used to bill the monthly fee in advance but the out of contract use in arrears, really confusing. Check your first couple of bills to see what they covered.

You have made as school boy error ....
You either give your notice OR use a PAC , not both.
If after giving notice you had left it at that then everything would have worked out ok.
By later requesting a PAC you basically cancelled the notice you had given and then everything revolved around the timing of the PAC.

You can Text now for a pac code and don't need to talk to anyone.
once you give the code to the new provider and it goes live your contract will automatically finish with 3.
also when they send the code you will get the final bill in with it.

Text 'PAC' to 65075 – and keep your mobile number

I think he has already used a PAC but is just complaining because he thought he should'nt owe any money but he does because he didnt understand how things actually  work.
