The Travel Industry - One of the only industries that not only has very little money coming in but is actually refunding everything they have worked so hard for over the last 12 months 😕
Imagine if every business that is currently closed had to refund every meal, drink, dress etc they had sold in the last 12 months .. Exactly 😳
So please support your local travel agents.
We need to stop the 14 day quarantine, it’s too little too late and all it will now do is put more independent travel agents out of business.

People won’t be booking business travel or holidays for at least few months yet, when furlough ends. We will be in trouble.

We see about the tour operators and the airlines but what about the travel agents?

Yes I get all that but what are you aiming for by posting on here ?

You say we need to stop the 14 day quarantine but who is the we ?

You would gain more traction by speaking to your local MP, get on twitter.

Thanks I have done that. Just wanting to get some exposure out there to Mr Lewis and this seems to be a way to communicate.
I work for an independent family run travel agents.
We as a country need to stop the 14 day quarantine restriction coming in to the UK. It’s too little, too late. You can get off a flight a get on public transport before going into quarantine, it makes no sense.

Its a political statement more then anything so the chances are they will not change it. As it is serving it purpose, which is not to protect the travel industry.

I don't think you will get much luck on here.
Most people post on here to either get help for a refund, or help in getting that refund.
The people who are willing to wait, won't tend to be on here.

I didn’t say the quarantine restriction is there to protect the travel industry. It is however not serving a purpose, it would have had it been imposed in March, it’s too late now and restrictions regarding it are too vague.

Good luck with a response from Martin, he doesnt read the forums, you need to tweet it to him.

You need to be more proactive about it. We on the forum can't change the quaratine.
What can change it is speak to your MP, on twitter and tweet the tweet to anyone relevant eg all travel firms, anyone with a voice oh and the PM.

No my point was it was serving a purpose just not the purpose you want. Or I want for that matter either.

    Thank you life goes on.
I wanted to get the travel industries issues out there. We seem to hear a lot about all kinds of business sectors. We hear about the airlines and your operators but not the travel agents. I wanted to get our plight heard but it looks like you are right, this isn’t the place. It’s the first time I have posted and probably won’t again 🤷🏼‍♀️

I know it’s not frontline but most of us have been working day in day out since March, reading the various airlines Covid-19 policies and sorting out clients refunds. Like a lot of  industries it’s been a tough time.
