Several people have recommended Ccleaner so I tried it, liked it an decided to buy CCleaner Professional (for Mac)
But after downloading it I cannot open it! I get this https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/zz293/stuff4sale4/Screenshot_2020_06_09_at_12.24.36.png?width=140&height=95&fit=bounds&crop=fill
I have asked for help but it looks like a long wait so am asking on here if anyone can help me?

Try downloading with another browser,ie Firefox.
I know Domestos kills 99% of germs, but I'm worried about the 1% that got away.1 -
CCleaner receives less enthusiasm, now that we're past Windows XP.Quite why anyone would want to use it on a Mac, I cannot imagine!0

I had the same problem. Once I had completed the latest OS update I found that CCleaner is no longer compatible with iOS. In order to maintain my mac I have removed both Malwarebytes and CCleaner and replaced them with CleanMyMac. Wish I had done so years ago as the difference is huge. Cleaner and faster mac running quieter and quicker. First scan took nearly 2 hours but subsequent scans take less than 15 minutes. Highly recommended.1

you shouldn't need third party software to clean the os. can't you clean the os in settings? i uninstalled ccleaner > 5 years ago"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0
