Morning all,
Apologies if I have posted this in the incorrect thread. I bought something from an online toy shop 3 1/2 years and nothing appeared on my credit card. Today I received an invoice from the company for that order. The credit card that i used expired for the order expired 2 years ago so they cant charge anything to my card. Question still being though should I have to pay for something that long ago, due to an error on their side?
Thanks

I believe they have up to 6 years to recover the debt, but others more knowledgeable than me might have additional info to offer. You've received the product and used it, so hopefully you'll pay for it so they don't have to take any further action.4

Yes, it's 6 years they have to claim the money and commence court proceedings.
Wrong section to post in as theres a consumer questions one for this type of thing.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -

Just because a card has expired does not mean that they can not debit it.
You had the goods, knew you had not payed for them and you are asking if you should pay?

andypm, I take it from your op that you knew that you hadn't been charged and didn't tell them? Yes you need to pay it.
Look at it this way you've had 3 1/2 years interest-free credit2 -
I’ve contacted the company and even they have no idea What has happened it isn’t even in there system. So been advised to ignore the invoice and it will be marked in as a system error.
thanks again for your assistance, except for @born_again you need to grow up!1 -

What's grown up about not wanting to pay for something you know you weren't charged for in the first place?15
