Average cost of living in a one bed flat?

Hi all,
I'm currently looking at moving into a one bed flat in West Yorkshire now that I have cleared all my debt and managed to save up some money.
I'm currently earning £18,000 a year and am looking to pay around £450pm in rent. I was hoping some of you might be able to share how much your monthly spend is including rent to start to give me an idea of how much I will be spending each month. A big part of my worry is that I lived on my own for some time but got in trouble with debt, moved back home to pay it of and now for the first time in a long time am able to live alone again! Very nerve racking.

Hiya,
A couple of things to watch out for that I noticed.
Postcode: I went from a BD postcode to an LS postcode and the Council Tax went up a lot. So it's worth checking the CT amount before you choose a place. You get a 25% discount if living alone though as you probably know.
Heating: An all-electric place will cost about £100 or more a month in winter. Gas is *much* cheaper; I currently pay less than £500/year for both gas and electric and keep the place warm. Having an upper story flat should be warmer than ground floor.
Water is about £200 a year on a meter (one shower a day, 3 or 4 cycles of the washing machine a week, washing up, etc).0 -
I live in a 1 bed flat that was built 2011.
Rent is about £350 this year (Housing Association)
Council Tax about £90 but that is only for 9 or 10 months of the year, thats with 25% discount, band A
Internet is £25 a month.
Electricity is £21 a month with EON direct debit.
Gas is with Ebico works out to about £10 a month over the year, pay on receipt of bill, I don't use much because I have a combi boiler with just heats the water when you turn the tap on, and I don't keep the place particularly warm.
Water is usually about £90 every 6 months on a meter with Severn Trent

With rent it's so dependent on area. Council tax too, but you can check that in advance for a property.
For gas/electric I pay about £40 a month across the year. That's in a ground floor Victorian conversion. Water is included in my rent. I pay about £20-25 for broadband (I switch a lot). £12 TV licence.0 -
Right, that's it, I'm not replying to one-post wonders again. Bloody timewasters.1
