I have finally received a refund to my account from Lastminute.com.  Our trip was for travel and accommodation in mid-April.  Cancelled by Lastminute in late March, for the whole package.   It took a lot of work to get there, but I am finally glad to report that they are providing some cash refunds.
How exactly did the process work from when they cancelled to receipt of refund ?
I am expecting my trip to be cancelled as the flights to USA booked on have been binned by BA.
Not heard this from LM but BA.
They emailed to cancel in late March for a trip in mid-April.  I then gave them the 2 weeks they're supposed to have to provide a refund before chasing.  I made efforts to contact them by social media, email and telephone but was consistently told that requests for refunds were being processed and were taking longer than usual due to Covid.  In May, I issued a chargeback.  In June, I threatened to pursue a small claim based on the Package Travel and Linked Travel Regulations and asked for an address for service of proceedings.  At some time in this process, I was given three options, two voucher and one cash refund option, all options required the confirmation of Ts & Cs which stated that refunds would be limited to costs recovered from third party providers.  I refused to accept these.  Eventually I sent a message saying I would issue proceedings against the company address in Switzerland and would seek recovery of fees in the claim and interest.  Shortly after, was called by the escalation team and told refund would be processed and should be with me in 5-15 days.  Arrived in around a week.  I do not know if the refund was triggered by the chargeback process or by my threatening proceedings or both, or if they just got to the point where my case was on the right desk at LM.  A frustrating process but my money has been returned.  I hope yours is too.

My circumstances are slightly different in that I have only paid a £411 deposit - the balance of £3700 was due on 9th July but this has been advanced to July 23rd.

They sent me an e-mail saying that this had been done intimating that it was to give them the chance to speak to the suppliers and see if my Holiday could go ahead. The USA trip is supposed to start on Aug 8th. It went on to say that if the Holiday did not go ahead I would be sent details about how my refund would be processed. It also mentioned they would not take any further monies if the trip was not going ahead.

I know the Flights have been cancelled as BA let the "cat out of the bag" by contacting me directly to let me know. As I've only paid a deposit access to your booking is limited in the Account Area of LM.

To be fair I will have to wait and see what happens next, the next key date being if and when they start refund proceedings or try and obtain the balance on or after the 23rd July. Perhaps it will be different as I have only paid a deposit. Probably clutching at straws but I will keep everyone updated.

Don't wait any longer, contact the card company you used to pay for the trip and ask for a chargeback
