BBC I player abroad

I pay my licence fee so why can't I watch BBC I player when I am abroad?

The BBC quote "technical issues", now amazon prime and netflix don't have "technical issues" , so why should the BBC?

Amazon Prime and Netflix are geo-locked to specific markets, not necessarily the same offerings in all locations.
The argument is probably going to be how to determine whether a connected user is entitled to view the iPlayer or not, which is relatively difficult so far as the internet is concerned.

Your TV licence is only covers you in the UK, it's worth nothing when you are abroad.

When abroad the only way you can watch bbc iPlayer is with a vpn - however the bbc technical guys seem to be getting better and better at spotting them, and banning them, so it’s a bit hit and miss as to whether they work. When I was living in Malaysia I found that Nord vpn worked best - but even then I had to keep changing the connection often, reloading and trying again. Sometimes I wouldn’t  get access for a day or two - and then struck lucky again. And yes, I did have a Uk tv license.

The only reason for you having a UK TV licence would be if a member of your household was watching live TV of BBC iPlayer while you were in Malaysia, otherwise you were just throwing money away.

Another member of my family was based in the Uk at the same residential address - so it was used there 👍

my point about all of this is that I pay for my BBC licence so why can't i watch it anywhere?
I think BBC need to get some sort of pin system so that people can take what they pay for with them

I have e mailed but heard nothing back from the BBC

Simple - it's a UK TV licence, not an international TV Licence.
Also, I don't think the BBC has the right to broadcast all the content internationally.

It doesn't. That's why you cannot access Iplayer from outside the UK without a bit of subterfuge

Why should the fee to allow you to watch TV in the UK allow you to watch TV when not in the UK?
