Halifax Have Made Me Feel Very Special

When I log on they tell me I have been selected for a special rate of interest on my savings which I can apply for:
0.01%
Make me feel warm inside.

Whatever rate one expects, 0.1% is hard to promote as "special rate of interest".

Natwest keep offering me an instant savings account with 0.01% interest, does the fact they keep offering it me make me special too?0

They don't need an influx of cash, otherwise they would soon launch a decent rate and receive an influx from rate tarts. They probably have enough in reserve and don't need anymore.
Why would they offer a decent rate when they can get money off the BOE at 0.1% and then lend back at higher rates.1 -
I have just shredded some old paperwork from accounts, one was for 6.1% interest - those were the days.0
