    Hi
Still really busy with work but hopefully getting a bit quieter for the next week.
Payment went out to SC beginning of the month, all those payments are making their way through, it seems like the debt is going down such a small amount, after xmas I am going to try putting money aside to pay off the smallest debt.
I haven't done a food shop this week I've just picked up some top up bits, which always annoys the kids but there is plenty here.
My son has been for a coved test today (he has symptoms) hopefully it will be negative and just remnants of the cold we've all had recently, no-one else had a continuous cough though.
Chores today but with a mixture of relaxing

Good grief I haven't posted for 20 days!
During that time I have mostly been working and reading. I have a day off today (my 4th day off this financial year)
Debt-wise my Tesco and Barclaycard are both closed completely now, My Paypal account has vanished from the app but is still visible in my online account, they have 2 cheques which they haven't cashed worth over £300 grrr.
Christmas seems like it is sneaking up now and i am worried about the expense, it's the kids really me and my husband aren't having anything. Have got some gifts stashed away for my son that were cheap in home Barga1ns but my daughters have expensive tastes. Work has recently launched a benefits package and part of the is a discounts portal so going to have a look at the vouchers to see if I can get anything nice from there today.

  • Hi Nat sorry to hear about your mother in law. Does she claim any disability related benefits? If not she would be entitled in her situation.
How much is the debt to PayPal? Could you make any extra payments to them to clear it quicker if they are the ones being a pain? I don't know much about DMP but pretty sure I saw someone say you can still make extra payments

    Hello,
I can't believe it's been a month since my last update!
I must say I feel guilty about my Christmas spending and though I have been sensible and I have been sticking to a budget I still feel bad and I have set a bigger budget that I would have liked to. I already have a plan of action for the new year and I am determined to sort this out along with my increasing weight :open_mouth:
    Some good news:
My DMP remains on track and today FINALLY PayP@l have cashed all my cheques to date hooray! this means that I am now up to date with payments and my account wont show a negative balance anymore  Also this debt has been transfered to Moorcr0ft.
I've been very good with my grocery shopping and we've managed to go without grocery shopping for 3 weeks in November whilst we lowered the amount of food in the house ready for the Christmas food shop. I will have one extra mouth to feed as on next week as my eldest will be home from Uni.
I hope that everyone who reads my posts is well

  • It's great that PayPal is sorted now. I think Xmas this year has been hard for everyone as its been such an awful year people want to celebrate but funds don't always stretch as far as we would like

    Hello,
December was busy with ups and downs. I had some work news about reorganisation which was upsetting but I’m coping with that ok.
Since Christmas we’ve received news that my mother in laws cancer is much worse that we thought, she had been hiding the fact that she had been living with breast cancer for a while and the lung tumour was a secondary tumour. We’ve been told she has maybe a few weeks left. She’s signed a DNR. It’s been a terrible shock.
We had chosen not to celebrate NY this year as we knew of was going to be a tough one so we are carrying on with 2020 - I think most people are coming around to the fact that 2021 isn’t going to be much different to last year.
I don’t have much debt news, I’ve updated my signature. This year I will pay £8100 off my debt I can’t see it being much more than that, I don’t really have spare money to up my payments. This month and next month are going to be tight I have an extra payment going out of my account on Jan 30th as a payment wasn’t taken in December. I have my car service/MOT in Feb which are paid for but not any work that needs doing (hoping none as the car has barely been used for a year)
I’m trying to get out more for walks around the park I feel so unfit now and my weight is higher than I would like.
We haven’t bought groceries yet this month we are living off the contents of the freezer and cupboards so meals are going to be interesting this month.
Wishing everyone who reads this all the best for the year ahead

Morning Natlie, sorry to hear about your mother in law. Cancer such a horrible disease, bless her trying to be a typical mum keeping it to herself to not upset others with the truth.
Don’t think anyone can believe that we’re still in this situation almost a year later and no end date. I think if we had a date when we’d get back to normal we’d all be a bit more upbeat knowing there was light at end of tunnel.
Sometimes there is only so much we can pay off our debt, we do have a life to live along the way. Take care x

Good to see you @natlie thanks for the update.
Sorry to hear about your MIL.
People are going to have to accept that the virus doesn't just disappear because we have started a new calendar. Nothing much has changed and the change when it happens will be slow.

  • Sorry to hear about your mother in law. It's hard enough to deal with without all the covid stuff as well. Take care
