And that technically your flight could land at Dublin instead of Gatwick , take off again and be exempt on arrival at Gatwick as Dublin to the UK is allowed
Was in the news today that this loophole has been closed.

There are many loopholes in this poorly constructed piece of legislation.  Most are only discovered as people are picking through the silly ruling.   Whilst the Dublin link has been quickly closed after it was pointed out I believe you could still fly back into GLA/EDI and drive back over the border to England, or catch a domestic flight.

I wish the Government would back down and accept that they made a right old mess of introducing this now.    Weeks, months ago fine but not on 8 June.    I expect it will be removed by the end of the month.

Seems as if people are more interested in picking loop holes to benefit themselves. Than a concern for the broader population including those NHS staff still donning full PPE in ICU everyday. Either we all in this together or we aren't.  The impatience is simply astounding at times. New Zealand currently has no cases of Covid yet the 14 isolation remains in place. No one there is complaining.

Of course there is, what on earth do you expect?  If government had spent adequate time investigating and considering every last possible issue that might arise out of recent actions then nothing would have been done and they'd still be discussing it.
When you don't have all the facts (which of course you never do) you still have to make decisions otherwise you are paralysed.  So you make those decisions in the full knowledge that new facts make suggest further actions.  This is the way the entire world works because no one, absolutely no one, knows everything so all decisions are imperfect.
And even when government DOES make decisions, not everyone follows it anyway.
Grow up people and get a sense of realism!
