Good afternoon
I've had issues with E.ON I find it very difficult to use their website and I am unable to find any information on v35 tariff they advised me to go on and I'm locked inn and then a couple of months later I found out i am £157 in debt and they did not notify me on any issues or advise me on any help is this normal ? Is it normal that I can't find any information at all to understand what this tariff is and how they advised this would be suitable for my use ?

Enter your address and should get a list of tariffs applicable to your area. Two v35 tariffs are listed for mine. Your tariff's name should be on your bill.
Your energy bill should also contain details about how the total is calculated.1 -
It was only available via price comparison websites, so it probably won't be shown on E. On's website. You have been sending meter readings and checking your bills, haven't you? In any case, your account may well have a debit balance after the winter months.1

You can find them in your "My Account" section. Also you are not "locked in", you are always free to move subject to exit fees, which don't apply 49 days prior to the end of the tariff anyway. As to "suitable for my use", you only get out what you put in, so if you tell them you only use some ridiculously small amount of energy and your direct debit is set to something ridiculous like £30 a month for dual-fuel, of course you're going to rack up a debt.1 -

Already some excellent advise so thank you.
Some tariffs are only available through comparison sites, so won't show on your online account.
You can see a list of tariffs via your online account, it's really quick to do, just log in as normal then click 'check your tariff' you can switch between E.ON tariffs at any time and you won't be charged an exit fee. You can also change supplier at any time, but check the T&Cs of your current tariff to see if there is an exit fee.
The amount of energy that you're using, along with payments made and current balances are all shown on your online account and on your bills.
As others have said, keep the account up to date by entering regular meter reads, you can also use the Direct Debit manager tool to adjust your payments, this is avoid the account building up to much credit or debit.
Thank you

I dont know if its still true now , but in March 2019 Malc (Formely Eon) posted this
"there's nothing to stop you moving to Energy Plan now and then changing supplier. This way you avoid the exit fees although you'll pay more for your energy between going on to Energy Plan and when the switch completes. "
My understanding is that you can do this and then leave without paying exit fees.
Helena - can you confirm if this is still the case please?

Thank you very much all
This might take me a bit of time to read through and hopefully I can understand0 -

You may be charged an exit fee if you choose to change supplier before your renewal period, which is 49 days before your tariff is due to end. Please refer to your tariff terms and conditions for more information.
You won’t be charged an exit fee if you choose to leave E.ON during the renewal window (which starts 49 days before the end of your tariff). You will also not be charged an exit fee if you choose to switch to another E.ON tariff or move house.Source: https://www.eonenergy.com/help/energy-supply/switching.html

Yes but the quote I linked to above, suggests that you can switch to the standard variable tariff at any point, and then leave penalty free. Would be good for clarification from @E.ON_Company_Representative:_Helena though0

You can change between E.ON tariffs without being charged an exit fee, so you can change on to Energy Plan then switch, as Malc says you probably will pay more until the switch has gone through.
Thank you
