OP has other debt issues and credit card balances due as well, as well as not being completely sure what shape their credit history is actually in.

I have 2 cards that will be cleared in 2 months. I have no other debt or 'issues'. I have missed payments from 3 years ago..which will be 4 years when I come to applyD3xt3r5L4b said:OP has other debt issues and credit card balances due as well, as well as not being completely sure what shape their credit history is actually in.

Those missed payments are indeed other debt issues but the timeframes are good.
When you're out of debt altogether and it's been 36+ months since your last payment issue, you'll find a lot of lenders offering you competitive mortgages.
A good, long standing, reputable all of market broker will help you find such a mortgage once you're ready

Yeah i understand that but I'd like to think it wouldn't stop me all together getting a decent rate. I get my history isnt great. This default to be fair might be gone before I apply, I'm probably flapping for nothing. ThankyouFighter1986 said:Those missed payments are indeed other debt issues but the timeframes are good.

Hi guys just coming back to this....so after further looking....experian and equifax have no record of this default. Equifax have it as a late payment and and experian don't even have the account on anymore. Its only transunion who have the default and account on there. Is this a usual thing to happen?? So basically if a lender didn't use transunion to check my file my chances would be completely different?0

Possibly.
But we’re not savvy with lenders criteria.0
