Someone on the other thread said about people hanging around pubs all day, but this is not me. Seriously, the only pub that I can afford to visit is this one! Those people are almost definitely scamming, because no-one will even give me a credit card, so it's not on credit!
It's not a nice life if it helps- hardly any money and a whole lot of prejudice. I have actually have people who I really liked and seemed to be getting on well with stop talking to me after the question "so, what is it that you do?" Trainee sports psychologist is such a tempting answer specially as it isn't entirely untrue but honesty is my downfall.
I just wanted to see what people thought of the genuines.

Did you read the thread? The OP lives in the middle of nowhere with no public transport and no McDonalds. We suggested her best bet was to move out and find a living-in job somewhere. As she hasn't been around for some time, perhaps that is what she has done.

not necessarily. they're not always hiring, and if they're not short staffed then you're not going to get a full time job. things are tight at mcdonalds, what if they only offered a 3 hour shift? would it cover the bus fare let alone living expenses?

mine employs some people for the full 8 hour shift but most others are only in to cover the few busy hours around lunch time, or around tea-time. they can pick and choose, and people are paid by the hour so it makes sense to get rid of them between 2 and 5.
