As an afterthought, would you consider doing the Text Chat Operator work?

There's a thread about that over on the Employment forum. Fair enough it's not very good pay, but with all that time on your hands and being able to work from home, it would go towards getting you some driving lessons or something maybe?

    Just a thought.

thats true alot of people say that, as is the fact there are many barriers to finding work as well. its not as easy as some people think.

TD - how's the job hunting going?

Have you applied for anything this week?

  • My story is, I am not claiming dole but I am unemployed looking for a job. I am quite good with money and have been living off my savings. I really do feel for the OP. When I was claming dole, it was awful. The people working at the offices were suppose to help you but most of my past employment, I have found by myself without the abuse of the jobseeker staff.
OP, I have lots of experience in retail. I have sent my CV to numerous employers (retail and other). When I had less experience, I had no problem getting an interview. Yet, I am older and with more experience, employers don't even ask me for an interview. But my friend who is the same age as me with no retail experience whatsoever gets a sales advisor job on her 1st try.
It's a backwards world but keep on trying. Something will come up sooner or later.
  • hi turkish delight, I started reading this thread but at 18 pages long I cant read it all so sorry if this covers what had already been said.

if there are no jobs where you live and travelling to a locallish job is hard then in reality you really have to move elsewhere dont you think? At 20, do you really want to be living in the middle of nowhere with no life and no money? A young lady should be out there in her prime enjoying a job, having some freedom and fun.

I take it you live with your parents, but ask yourself do you really want to remain in a village with nothing more than a pub for the rest of your life till you have to do all the care for your parents as they get older? I say this because my aunt in law, has never had much of a life cared for her parents and is now mid 50's is bitter and very very twisted where by her urgent news to tell everyone is a cat walked in her garden etc.

life is for living, look on the internet at all sorts get out there. I work in the travel industry and know for a fact lots of hotels big chains etc have staff accomodation so you wouldnt even need deposits etc..you work for them, save some cash and then being in a larger place start looking for the ideal job...you have to start somewhere and sadly where you live and your circumstances is just a big void....

next week is a new year make it count....please :D
