they do pay towards driving lessons, my (single parent) daughter did it to pass her test while she was doing hairdressing in college , so when she qualifies she can become a mobile hairdresser enabling her to work round her childs school hours, perhaps something like that could help!!!!A freebie a day sends a smile my way!

I do get the feeling though that the OP has some sort of low self esteem issue - she has mentioned depression on another thread - and although it would seem to many that there is just excuse after excuse, I think it is more than that, and it is more than the issue of transport that the OP needs to tackle, not only in order to get a job, but to keep it too.
i can understand that - but if they can't drive - then why aren't they doing anything about it? if the only place to work is miles away and problems with busses etc - then why aren't they trying to learn to drive?Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly.0 -

The OP is in a remote village that has no shops and 1 pub. Even signing on is not done by her attending.
Where the OP lives, the first bus that gets her into town does not get her to town until 10.30 in the morning.
The last bus home leaves at 4pm
What is wrong with working in the one pub? or
Who said anything about working 9am - 5pm?
I am sure there would be plenty of part time jobs, which would mean he/she could use the bus service and use the money to go towards driving lessons?Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly.0 -
If she is on Jobseekers allowance, that is about £55 a week, less if aged under 25.
Learning to drive is pretty pricey, not to mention actually getting a car, insurance, etc etc.0 -
Ok im astonished, it has taken you 4 years of unemployment before you have even looked to see if there is an employment agency.
Its has taken you 4 years to ever hear of working from home.
How are the roads dangerous when there is nothing there? could you not get a job somewhere and do a lift share?
8 and 1/2 miles isnt that far, 45mins on an average bike by an average person.
How did your mum get a job if there are no jobs and she doesnt drive?0
