Turkish I've also had that CM of the year jobs place recommended to me, spoke to 2 people who say its good if you can stand the funny hours. (often 4pm till 12PM or sometimes beyond midnight till about 2am...)

Its not hard work so might be repetitive (you just need to be friendly and post some lucky dust magic stuff to keep people "entertained"........)

If you don't want to provide freedom for yourself, then just say, but don't come up with excuses about seeing flowers on the side of the road. All this thread you have been saying you can't get no wher, but as soon as we tell you you can, for the minimal of money, which you can get within a couple of months for a bit fo internet work, you say 'I seen flowers, I cant'.

I better not go to work tommorow. Something may happen!!
The only reason I wouldn't ride a motorbike/moped is I have a poor sense of balance and would probably fall off. Flowers wouldn't put me off.

Employment is a joke anyway. It's a market out there, there's only 1 job to every 20 people looking and applying, and the employers have the discretion to choose who they want at the end of the day. If you don't meet their expectations and someone else does, you're out of luck.
  • lol! i remember working in KFC when i was vegan. having to squish bloodied bits out of defrosted chicken pieces with my thumb was pretty horrific :rotfl:

And that was just working as the cashier at checkout wasn't it!

There is a way around the travel problem but it would take commitment from you and your parents. I assume that your parents would be delighted to get you in to a job which will help the family situation. As a short term solution could one of your parents not drive you to work. Not sure if your mum drives but you have stated she is out of work. Your dad drives but is self employed with I guess some flexibility in his hours although you state he is 'busy'.You can 'pay' them petrol expenses rather than 3 bus fares. You get off the dole and get a job. They get you out of the house. During the short term you can save for lessons, gain experience and who knows then what opportunities may fall your way.

  • I'm sorry but why the hell should DWP pay for driving lessons?

I thought it was standard practice - I know someone who got his driving lessons and his tests paid for here in Berkshire. He works cash in hand most days so there's no problem getting work here! He's actually better off than my family and both my husband and I work full time. He openly admits that he has no intention of working as he's getting unemployment and also everything paid for for his children at school. What really anoyed me was when he showed me his newly veneered and whitened teeth and thanked me for paying for his new Tom Cruise smile

Sadly some unemployed think it's their right to have everything paid for by the rest of us. (please note that I said some and not all!)
It's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.

Sorry I must have said it wrong- my mum is working now (just started) and can't drive anyway so that's a no go and my dad... won't. I don't blame him, he is self employed because he doesn't want to stick to anyone else's schedule and he is only part time living with us with his own finances, so me being unemployed doesn't really affect him. Thanks though :)

  • how many houses are there in your village? if transport is so bad maybe people need to shop from home? you could get the rounds for avon, betterware etc and maybe make your fiver a week that way. or more than a fiver a week, so what if the dole take it back off you, you still end up with your fiver. i got to know lots of people while i was an avon rep and i was often told about available jobs and free courses that other people's kids were on. you might even meet somebody who drives to work in town and could offer you a lift.

not a very moneysaving idea but how much would a taxi be? in my town it would cost around £11 one way for an 8.5 mile journey. maybe you could find a job where you'd need a taxi one way but the bus could take you the other way. my friend used to do that when the only job she could find was in a village where the transport wasn't good.
