No switch to socket

Hi all,

I have 3 under counter (kitchen worktops) sockets, 2 of which have a fuse spur above the worktop to switch the socket on and off, one of the sockets doesent seem to have a spur anywhere so its constantly on as soon as you plug something in.

When we moved in it had a plastic plug in it im guessing for safety, would it be okay to plug our fridge into it or is it not safe for that?

I'd assume that’s why they're there. It's a fused switch, not a spur. Does one switch do two sockets?

It'll be fine. As long as you know where the consumer unit is to turn everything off in an emergency.

No ive checked them all and like i say there was a plastic thing in the socket to prevent touching when i moved in so im guessing there is no switch for it.

Thanks guys sounds like its safe enough then :)

A 'plastic thing to prevent touching'? What? Are you saying the socket is damaged and has exposed live parts?

I read it as being one of them plastic safety covers to stop kids putting their fingers in it.

Pay a huge call-out charge only to ask whether some socket is OK and only because it had a safety cover?!

Would that be this sort of socket cover? https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5698060/safety-socket-covers-unsafe#latest
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
