dcbl "Notice of Debt Recovery" - Scotland

So I've read the "Newbies" thread but it mentions that things work differently in Scotland than they do in England. A few days ago I received a notice of debt recovery from dcbl after ignoring the previous PCN letters from the retailer. How should I proceed in Scotland?

PLAN A is always the same - complain to the retailer.
I DON'T mean the parking firm (which firm is it?).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

FYI, it was a ParkingEye charge, if that makes a difference0

I foolishly misplaced the original PCN letter so I don't know which parking firm it was anymore. The latest letter that I received was from Direct Collection Bailiffs Limited (DCBL) and it stated that DCBL "have been instructed to collect the outstanding balance on behalf of their client"... I may be wrong but does this not mean that the time for Plan A has passed?Coupon-mad said:PLAN A is always the same - complain to the retailer.

No, of course not. Principal can order a cancellation any time.2

Okay, that's good to hear. In fact, I've just found the original PCN and it was distributed from ParkingEye Ltd. on behalf of Morrisons Supermarket.nosferatu1001 said:No, of course not. Principal can order a cancellation any time.0 -
Get on with that complaint then
Do not contact the parking company, and DO NOT reveal the drivers identity. Under Scottish law the keeper cannot be made liable, unlike in england and wales.1 -
Absolutely. With regards to complaining to the retailer, is it best to send an email to Morrison's customer service or should PCN's be disputed by an old fashioned letter?0

OMG, it's the very easiest peasiest one to get cancelled!Col51 said:

Search this forum for Morrisons to find the usual email we use...this is simple and could have been cancelled in minutes at the time (but still can, now). Let us know next week when Ms cancel it for you.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

As well as complaints to the landowner, don't forget to complain to your MP about this unregulated scam.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Just to double check - I have no receipt of purchase on the day of the event (it occurred 4 months ago and I must have paid in cash) so, being in Scotland, will it suffice to simply state that I wasn't the driver and therefore I'd like the charge to be cancelled?0
