LG TV - set on fire
Comments

I also have a 2018 LG OLED (C8) & have a cheap set of led lights plugged into one of the USB ports. When the pixel refresh is completed (after 4 hours cumulative use), the TV clicks & the LED's turn off. Maybe you could try something similar & then you're free to turn it off at the mains to make you feel more comfortable ?.0

I would guess/hope that the replacement power supply isn't from the same batch the factory were using 2+ years ago.0

Which model do you have thanks-3
-
Personally I'd sell it once returned and pick up another TV - but that's just me.0

Are you aware of any other TV’s of the same model doing the same? How many thousands of tv’s haven’t caught fire, what is the likely good of yours doing the same thing again if the part has been replaced?
This is about risk, I suspect the odds of it happening again are thankfully pretty slim provided they have replaced the offending part.0 -

unfortunately finding anything about TV fires now seems quite difficult as Amazon fire appears on most searches. A few reviews mention their LG TVs popping and smoking, but cant see any about them being on fire.mclaren32 said:Are you aware of any other TV’s of the same model doing the same? I found some reviews about their soundbars just bursting into flames but cant see much on their TVs.0 -
Is the power adapter original-4

Did the OP say that the set came from Amazon?tonyhender said:Did you buy from amazon directly or one the marketplace sellers was the power adapter original
It's a 65" television so will plug directly into the mains and there won't be a power adapter.0 -
You are probably correct in this case, but it isn't always the case. I have a 49" Sony 4K TV at my work (that we use for special presentations and demos) that has an external AC/DC power unit.0
